The history of Imtel Computers dates back to 1973 when a division of Institute of Physics in Belgrade became a separate company named Institute of Applied Physics (short IPF). Later in 1990, when the activities moved to the field of electronics, the company changed its name to Institute of Microwave Technology and ELectronics (short IMTEL). In 1994 Imtel split into two companies: Imtel Computers and Imtel Microwaves.
Today, Imtel Computers is a corporation having 50 employees located in its own office building of approximately 1,500 square meters in the center of New Belgrade (Novi Beograd). Its main business is:
- Import and wholesale of computer components;
- Manufacturing, sales and service of personal computers and computer equipment;
- Sales, design, installation and maintenance of computer networks and systems;
- Computer communications and electronic business systems.
