A treasury tag is an item of stationery used to fasten sheets of paper to each other or to a folder. It consists of a piece of string, typically around 3 to 8 cm (1 to 3 in) long, both ends of which are held in the centre of a metal or plastic bar. Treasury tags are threaded through holes in paper made with a hole punch.
Tags with strings of various lengths are available for fastening quantities of paper of various thicknesses.
