Indiagames is primarily engaged in publishing and developing games across various platforms like Internet, PC, broadband, mobile phones, PDAs, handheld gaming devices and consoles. It was founded in 1999, then a five member team.

Indiagames is India’s largest integrated game developer-publisher across mobile, online and the Interactive Television.[1] The company has been a breaking new ground in the mobile gaming space and has partnered with several major game publishers and media companies in the world such as EA, Disney, THQ, Atari, Universal, Fox, Warner Brothers, Sony and others whose IP has been published across global leading telecoms including Verizon, Vodafone, Airtel, AT&T, Telstra and others. Some of Indiagames’ successful titles include the first Spider-Man game on mobile, Bioshock, Garfield, Godzilla and Warchess (iPad).

Considered the most important gaming developer and publisher in India, Indiagames in 2005 controlled 60% of the market share in India's game-related wireless value-added services market.[2] In 2009, Indiagames had over 300 employees and offices in Mumbai, Beijing, London and Los Angeles.[3]

In 1999, Vishal Gondal founded Indiagames, then a five member team. Indiagames primarily engaged in publishing and developing games across various platforms like Internet, PC, broadband, mobile phones, PDAs, handheld gaming devices and consoles. In 2005,TOM online Games, a subsidiary of TOM Online Inc took major stakes in the company.[4] Vishal Gondal kept his position as CEO though. In 2007,The Indian company UTV Software Communication acquired a majority stake in Indiagames.[5] In 2011,Indiagames was acquired by Disney for around $100m. At the time of acquisition, Indiagames was making a profit of $400,000 on revenues of $11 million as reported by various publications.[6]

  • 3Lakshya creates games for the international market. It also researches game development on all new platforms.
  • Chandra works on various game titles for mobile phones and DTH set-top boxes. These games, created on multiple platforms, are based around popular genres like Action, Adventure, Puzzle, Sports and Racing and follow themes like Bollywood, Cricket, Reality Shows, Celebrities, etc.

Product and Services[edit]

Games on Demand In India the company runs the only subscription based PC games service called “Games on Demand” across all major broadband operators. Indiagames’ triple-play games model is complimented by its presence as the largest operator of ITV Games Services with leading satellite TV service providers in India.[7]
