The Institute for System Level Integration (ISLI) provides postgraduate education, professional training, and research in system level integration and system-on-chip technologies. The institute was founded in 1998 and was located in Livingston, Scotland, UK until 2009, when it moved to Heriot-Watt University Technology Park[1].

The Institute is a collaborative venture involving the computer science and electronic and electrical engineering departments of four of the UK's leading universities, University of Edinburgh, University of Glasgow, Heriot-Watt University and University of Strathclyde.

Its aim is to support the development of electronics systems design worldwide and to encourage the exploration of new technologies through research. Primary source of funding is from Scottish Enterprise, Scotland’s economic development agency.
