Institute of Engineering and Technology, DAVV

The Institute of Engineering and Technology, commonly referred to as IET, is an engineering college of Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya. The college was founded as an autonomous institute in 1996. It is located in the Takshashila campus of the university on Khandwa Road in the south-east of Indore city, Madhya Pradesh, India.

Situated in a large lush green campus, IET offers undergraduate and graduate engineering programs in five disciplines along with hosting research labs and student outreach programs.

The institute is ranked at 2nd position in the list of top engineering colleges of Madhya Pradesh after MANIT at 1st.

History

IET was founded in 1996. Complementing the DAVV School of Electronics and the International Institute for Professional Studies (IIPS), the college helped complement the technology and management related offerings from the University of Indore (DAVV).

The institute offers undergraduate and postgraduate awards B.E, M.E, and M.Sc.

The institute offers education in the following:

• Information Technology Engineering,
• Mechanical Engineering,
• Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering,
• Civil engineering.

Apart from this, IET accommodates IIT Indore inside its campus. There are classrooms and labs at IET which are used by IIT Indore.

Facilities

The institute has four departmental blocks - Computer and IT block ,Civil block, Electronics block and Mechanical block along with the main block.Also an IT block, which is under construction. The institute has buildings for library, workshop and automobile testing. A hostel for girls, two boys hostel and residential blocks for faculty are under construction.Currently IIT-INDORE is running in IET campus and share labs, libraries of the college.

Academics

Electronics and instrumentation engineers of the college have secured top positions in the all India GATE examinations for several consecutive years. In 2008 the institute produced five students in top 25 AIR in the GATES exam.In 2011 3rd ranker of GATE is from this college and 5 students from top 100 are from this college.Many students got selection in IIM, NITIE, XLRI, IIFT, FMS, SIBM and many other management institutes.Students from this college also serving in INDIAN ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICE AND MADHYA PRADESH ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICE.

Cultural festivals

Kaleidoscope, the annual cultural and technical festival of state's leading engineering institute, Institute of Engineering and Technology, Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya held rouhly across mid week of February has come to become a celebration,that everyone in cenral India look forward to. The first edition was held in year 2000 and every year since then it is regularly getting upgraded,attaining both participation and popularity.

Placements

Almost all eligible students get placements from the institute. Major recruiters include Infosys, TCS, CSC, Atos Origin, Tata Techno, Bosch, Reliance Power, Tech Mahindra, Persistent, Cap Gemini, Vedanta Resources, Mahindra and Mahindra, Adobe Systems, Syntel, HSBC, HCL, Accenture and L&T Infotech.Adobe offered 8.02 lakh per annum which is highest and average is 3 lakh per annum
