Telecommunications in Malawi includes the country's telephone, television, radio and internet services.

Telephones - main lines in use: 160,100 (as of 2010) up from 85,000 (As of 2003)

Telephones - mobile cellular: 3 million (as of 2010) up from 1.781 Million (as of 2008) up from 135,100 (As of 2003)

Telephone system: domestic: fair system of open-wire lines, microwave radio relay links, and radiotelephone communications stations international: satellite earth stations - 2 Intelsat (1 Indian Ocean and 1 Atlantic Ocean)

Radio broadcast stations: AM 9, FM 5 (plus 15 repeater stations), shortwave 2 (plus a third station held in standby status)) (As of 2001)

Radios: 2.6 million (As of 1997)

Internet[edit]

Internet Service Providers (ISPs): 18 (As of 2003) There is a very significant increase of Web users in Malawi.
