Gogebic-Iron County Airport (IATA: IWD, ICAO: KIWD, FAA LID: IWD) is a public airport located seven miles (11 km) northeast of the central business district (CBD) of Ironwood, a city in Gogebic County on the western edge of the U.S. state of Michigan. The airport covers 1,180 acres (478 ha) and has one runway. It is mostly used for general aviation. Essential Air Service provides commercial air service to Minneapolis/St. Paul (MSP).
Frontier Express provided service to Rhinelander (RHI), continuing on to Milwaukee (MKE) until March 8, 2012. Great Lakes Airlines began Minneapolis/St. Paul service on March 17.[1]
