József Árpád Habsburg (Joseph Arpád Benedikt Ferdinand Franz Maria Gabriel, born 1933), is a member of the Hungarian Palatine branch of the House of Habsburg-Lorraine.

He was born in Budapest the son of Archduke Joseph Francis of Austria, and his wife Princess Anna of Saxony. He is the great-grandson of Archduke Joseph of Austria, Count Palatine of Hungary.,[1]

He is a Knight of the Golden Fleece (number 1274)[2] and a General Captain of the Order of Vitéz, a rank and title was banned in the Republic of Hungary by Statute IV of 1947 regarding the abolition of certain titles and ranks (Hungary).

Joseph Arpád married in 1956 Maria von Löwenstein-Wertheim-Rosenberg, daughter of Karl, 8th Prince of Löwenstein-Wertheim-Rosenberg and Carolina dei Conti Rignon. They had eight children:

  • Maria Christine Regina Stephania Immacolata Carolina Monika Ägidia (born 1961), in 1988 she married Raymond van der Meide (born 1959)
  • Andreas-Augustinus Maria Arpád Aloys Konstantin Pius Ignatius Peter (born 1963), in 1994 he married Marie-Christine von Hatzfeldt-Dönhoff (born 1968)
  • Alexandra Lydia Pia Immacolata Josepha Petra Paula Maria (born 1965), in 1999 she married Wilhelmus de Wit (born 1965)
  • Nicolaus Franziskus Alexander Nuno Josef Arpád Ruppert Donatus Virgil Maria (born 1973) in 2002 he married Eugenia de Calonje Gurrea
  • Johannes Jacobus Josef Arpád Ulrich Pius Stephan Ignatius Hermann Maria (born 1975).[3][4] In 2009, he married María Gabriela Montenegro Villamizar.
