Jack Morris Sherman (born January 18, 1956) is a guitarist best known as a member of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, playing on their debut album. Sherman joined the Chili Peppers in late 1983 replacing founding member, Hillel Slovak. Sherman would remain with the band for the tour in support of the album but due to conflicts with singer Anthony Kiedis, he was fired in 1985 and Slovak returned to the band. Sherman would later patch things up and provided backing vocals on their 1989 song "Good Time Boys" and their hit "Higher Ground".

He has also recorded with Bob Dylan, George Clinton, Gary Mallaber, Tim Drummond , Barry Goldberg, Jim Keltner, T.Bone Burnett, Booker T. Jones, Danny Kortchmar, Bob Glaub, Peter Case, Gerry Goffin, Tonio K, Johnette Napolitano, Solomon Burke, Tanya Tucker, David Kemper, Kenny Edwards, Merry Clayton, Leland Sklar, Michael Steele (Bangles) Russ Kunkel, Raymond Pounds, James Jamerson Jr. and others. Sherman has toured/performed with Phil Lee, Bert Sommer, Glenn Cornick, Toni(Childs)and the Movers, Eric Culberson, John Hiatt, Hunt Sales and the BIG 9, Charlie Sexton, Tonio K, Juliana Raye, Toni Childs, etc.

Sherman and his family have resided since 2003 in Savannah, Georgia.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers were announced as 2012 inductees into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame although despite performing on the band's debut, Sherman will not be inducted for reasons unknown. .[1]
