Jack Wilkinson (17 September 1931 – 10 April 1996) was an English footballer.
[edit] Playing career
Wilkinson played for Middlewich Athletic Rangers and Witton Albion before moving into League football joining Arsenal in October 1953. He made just one competitive appearance, in a First Division game against Leicester City on 19 February 1955; Arsenal drew 1–1. Despite consistently scoring for Arsenal's reserves he was never given another first-team chance and was transferred to Sheffield United in March 1956.[1]
Wilkinson lasted nine months with the Blades before joining Port Vale in June 1957. He quickly became a regular for the team, including in the side that won the Football League Fourth Division title in the 1958–59 season. However the following season he barely featured and was sold to Exeter City for £2,500 in October 1959.[2] He was flown down to St James Park by helicopter to sign with the club, before he scored on his debut for the Grecians.[3] He later played for Wellington Town and Murgatroyd's.
