Juan Pablo Huerta (born May 24, 1984) better know by his stage name Jae-P is a Mexican-American rapper. Born in Jalisco, Mexico growing up in South-Central L.A., California. Jae-P is a son of Mexican immigrants from the states of Guanajuato and Colima. Jae-P heard his parents playing Mexican norteño, banda, ranchera, tejano and mariachi and other Mexican music at home but heard hip-hop and R&B in the streets.
In 2002, Jae-P signed with Univision Records. In 2003, his debut album labeled "Ni De Aquí, Ni De Allá" (Neither From Here Nor There) was released. It sold 100,000 units and earned him a gold plaque for Latin CD sales.[1] Univision Records also released Jae-P's next 3 albums, "Esperanza" (Hope) in 2004, "Pa Mi Raza" (For My People) in 2006, and "Atrevete" (I Dare You) in 2007.
