Jaid Barrymore (born May 8, 1946) is an American actress, best known as actress Drew Barrymore's mother.
She was born Ildikó Jaid Makó to a concert violinist mother and an artist father.[citation needed] Her parents were Hungarian World War II refugees and she was born in a displaced persons camp in Brannenburg, West Germany, later growing up in Pennsylvania, United States.[1]
She married John Drew Barrymore in 1971, with whom she had a daughter, actress Drew Barrymore. They divorced in 1984. Jaid Barrymore appeared in Playboy magazine in September 1995, eight months after her daughter Drew's pictorial was featured in the magazine.
