Jacob Harris "Jake" Miller (born November 28, 1992) is an American rapper and songwriter from Weston, Florida. He is signed to Warner Bros. Records.[1]

On November 5, 2013, Miller released his debut album Us Against Them, which was promoted with a nationwide concert tour. Us Against Them debuted at #1 on the iTunes charts. On May 7, 2014, Miller was labeled as the #1 'Artist To Watch' by FoxWeekly, predicting that Miller would be a huge artist by mid-2015.[2][3] In 2014, Miller was also placed on MTV's Artist To Watch column.[4]

Early life[edit]

Miller was born and raised in Weston, Florida with his parents, Bruce and Lee Miller, and his younger sister, Jenny Miller. He was raised Jewish.

Miller landed his debut live performance opening for Snoop Dogg in Florida in 2011. In May 2011, he won the Samsung and T-Mobile USA national "Kick it With the Band" talent competition. As a grand prize winner, Miller was awarded $35,000 to use for his music career as well as a video with YouTube celebrity Keenan Cahill. This kicked off a whirlwind which saw him opening for Mac Miller and performing alongside Flo Rida, Sean Kingston, and Asher Roth at the "Think Pink Rocks" concert which benefited breast cancer awareness. In December 2011, Miller performed at the annual Z-100 Jingle Ball concert along with Cody Simpson and We the Kings. He performed live at the Orange Drive "Miami Beach Music Festival" on New Year's Eve 2011, in which Jason Derulo, Cee Lo Green, Ne-Yo, Gym Class Heroes and Cobra Starship also performed. On March 11, 2012, Miller performed on both the Planet Pit Stage and Power 96 Stage at the famed "Calle Ocho Festival" in Miami, in front of an estimated crowd of over 200,000. In September, he performed with Austin Mahone and Sammy Adams at the "Z-100 Pep Rally" in Miami. Miller has partnered with Big Time Rush for the song "Lost In Love" from the album 24/Seven.[5]

Miller released his EP Spotlight on July 29, 2012. A single from the EP, "What I Wouldn't Give" played on radio across the country including SiriusXM Radio's Top 20 on 20 (Channel 3) and ranked near the top 50 on the Top 40 Radio chart. Miller has also released music videos for most songs off his EP including "Day Without Your Love" and "Runnin".

2013: The Road Less Traveled EP & Us Against Them[edit]

On January 16, 2013, Miller signed with eOne Music. On April 9, 2013, Miller released his EP The Road Less Traveled, which debuted at #1 on the iTunes Hip-Hop Chart and spawned his hit single "A Million Lives", which is about overcoming tough times.[6]

On November 5, 2013, Miller released his debut full length album Us Against Them and has since hit the road on a 43-date tour in support of the album. The video for lead single "Collide" premiered on MTV, MTV Hits and MTV.com. The 11-track album runs the gamut from moving love songs like the first single, the upbeat, house-influenced "Collide" and "Me and You" to feel-good songs brimming with confidence and a love for life like "Hollywood", "High Life", and "Heaven" to one of the most vulnerable songs Jake has ever penned, the stripped down acoustic "Homeless". Us Against Them also features "A Million Lives". In November 2013, Miller revealed that he had signed a record deal with Warner Bros. Records.[7]

2014-present: Lion Heart[edit]

On July 6, 2014, Miller released the lead single from his upcoming second studio album First Flight Home.[citation needed] On September 30, 2014, Miller announced that he would release a new EP called Lion Heart on November 4, 2014.[citation needed] The songs on the EP include "Dazed and Confused", "Lion Heart", "Party in the Penthouse", "Ghost", and "First Flight Home".
