[edit] Career
Zikic has had five professional boxing bouts, with three wins and two losses. His last professional boxing bout was in 2004. He began his mixed martial arts career in 1998, and made his UFC debut in 2002 when he faced Phillip Miller at UFC 38: Brawl at the Hall. He lost the fight via unanimous decision and this proved to be his first and only UFC bout.
In April 2007, he won the Cage Rage World Light Heavyweight Championship by defeating Evangelista "Cyborg" Santos at Cage Rage 21: Judgement Day. He lost the title at his first defence, however, as he lost to Vitor Belfort at Cage Rage 23: Unbelievable in September that year.
After the demise of Cage Rage, he signed with Poland's KSW and made his promotional debut with a decision victory over Daniel Dowda at KSW XII: Najman vs. Pudzianowski in December 2009. He was then scheduled to fight Robert Jocz in June 2010 in Gdynia, Poland at a Beast of the East event, but had to cancel it because his contract with KSW proved to be exclusive for Poland.
On September 25, 2010, Zikic faced John Phillips at BAMMA 4: Reid vs. Watson in a bout to determine the #1 contender for BAMMA Middleweight Championship. Phillips weighed in at 187 lbs, which technically made it a catchweight bout, and continued his streak of TKO victories by defeating Zikic in 1:34 of the first round.[1] Recently lost a controversial split decision to Izumi. Even the commentors where quite surprised by the decision.[1]
[edit] Personal life
Zikic (Жикић, Žikić) is of Serbian descent on his father's side.[2]
