Jandala, Poonch

Coordinates: 33°58′N 73°39′E / 33.96°N 73.65°E / 33.96; 73.65 Jandala is a village in the Rawalakot Tehsil of the Poonch District of Azad Kashmir (the area of Kashmir administered by Pakistan). It is in the north east of the district,[1] in the hills above the Jhelum Valley. The district was affected by a major earthquake (7.6 on the Richter scale) in October 2005,[2] and suffered from flooding in July 2006.[3]

The main language spoken is Pahari. Schools are the governoment High School, the Nishter Public School Jandala (Captain Zahid Hameed's own ) and the Fatima jinnah college for girls.[4] Usually the population is served by the Arja Rural Health Center in Bagh.[5] The main export of Jandala is chewing tobacco. The most common drink is chai. The main religion is Sunni Islam.
