Jane Addams Junior High School

Jane Addams Junior High School is a Junior High School in Schaumburg, Illinois, USA. The school, which was founded in December 1969, is located in the southwestern part of Schaumburg.

Addams has more than 700 seventh- and eighth-grade students and is a 90/90 school, meaning that 90 percent of students meet or exceed ISAT test scores in math and language subjects.[citation needed]

Students are assigned to an interdisciplinary team and are placed with a group of core teachers representing language arts, math, social studies, science and physical education. Students also have two class periods of encore classes to complete each nine-period day. The staff at Jane Addams functions as a Professional Learning Community with a focus on learning, collaboration, and results.

Addams was named after Jane Addams, a social worker who founded the Hull House in Chicago.

The school hosts the cross country event "Crusader Fall Flite Classic Cross Country Invitational" for schools from the northwest suburbs.[where?] The event has in the past[when?] had over 700 participants.

Addams also has offers boys and girls basketball, wrestling, girls volleyball and track and field teams.[citation needed]
