Janet Ågren (born 6 April 1949) is a Swedish former actress of mostly Italian exploitation films.[1]

Life and career[edit]

Ågren was born in Landskrona, Sweden, a town she once described to Italian entertainment journalists as a "Northern Naples."[2] Her modeling career brought her to Rome where she studied acting at the Drama School directed by Alessandro Fersen.[3] She made her film debut in Luciano Salce's Colpo di stato (1968).[3] She appeared in a total of 57 films, including Lucio Fulci's Paura nella città dei morti viventi (1980), Umberto Lenzi's Mangiati Vivi (1980), Carlo Vanzina's Dagger Eyes (1983), Richard Fleischer's Red Sonja (1985) and Sergio Martino's Hands Of Steel (1986). Janet also appeared in 1972 Jack Lemmon comedy Avanti! as a nurse. In early 1980s she also had a brief musical career.[4] She quit acting in the early 1990s and moved to the US where she currently resides.

She married the Italian film producer Carlo Maietto.[3]
