Jangl offers its customers the ability to talk and text safely with anonymity. This includes online dating sites, social networking sites, classified ad sites, auction sites, blogs, or any other place where there is an online communication happening. They have teamed up with Facebook, Bebo, Match.com, Friendster, AdultFriendFinder, Tagged, PlentyOfFish and Fubar to market and provide applications enabling text messaging, voice, and voicemail for members of those communities.[1] They have raised a total of $9 million in two rounds of funding.[2] Callers go to the Jangl website and key in the person they want to reach Jangl ID. To be accepted, callers have to provide enough personal information so that the system can connect them with that caller.[3] The call then goes through to your number, or they can record a voice mail. The user doesn’t need to have a Jangl account to use this service. They can also enter the email address of the person they want to contact and leave a voice mail for that person to call them back.
