Jari Kainulainen is a Finnish bassist best known as the former bassist of Finnish power metal band Stratovarius from 1993 until 2005. He has also played with other bands such as Symfonia, Evergrey, and Devil's Train.

Kainulainen plays Ibanez 6 string basses and uses Ampeg amplifiers. He is influenced by Geezer Butler, Billy Sheehan, Cliff Burton, and Steve Harris.[1]

He joined Masterplan in 2012.
