Jewett Academy is a public magnet school in Winter Haven, Florida. It serves students in grades 6-8 and is part of Polk County Public Schools. The current principal is Jacquelyn S. Moore.

History[edit]

Jewett Academy Magnet School was established in 1993 using the site of the former Jewett High School. It was named for Dr. Mary Bell Jewett, a local pioneer who believed in educating people of all races and colors.

Curriculum[edit]

Jewett Academy is an IB middle school candidate school. It has an excellent Academic program. It has been a A+ for several years. Its math program is progressing in tremendous levels.

Extracurricular activities[edit]

Student groups and activities include chess club, E-team, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, GeoBowl, JAM TV, Math Counts, National Junior Honor Society, newspaper and yearbook.
