Sunday Supplement (formerly Jimmy Hill's Sunday Supplement) is a Sunday morning TV show in the UK about sports, with an emphasis on football. It is shown on Sky Sports 1.
The host and newspaper columnists sit around a table and discuss the latest football news and gossip, including a look at the Sunday sports pages. It was initially alleged that it was actually filmed in former host Jimmy Hill's kitchen but the truth came to light on several occasions in 2006 when Hill was late claiming to be stuck in traffic.[citation needed]
In 2007, Sky Sports decided to axe Hill, preferring to have four journalists discussing the weekend's football. The move was unpopular with some fans of the show, who thought that Sky were letting go of a star. However, its viewing figures are steadily rising. This is due to the simple but essential nature of the format, and also to the quality of the guests. The journalists round the table vary, but is usually hosted by Brian Woolnough, with regulars including Henry Winter, Martin Samuel, Shaun Custis, Oliver Holt, Ian Ridley, Sam Wallace, Joe Lovejoy, Patrick Barclay and Ian McGarry.
