Jinotega is a municipality in the Jinotega department of Nicaragua. The population of this urban area accounts for about 65,000 of its inhabitants. Jinotega is located in a valley surrounded by mountains, in the north-central area of Nicaragua. It is located 160 kilometers from the capital of Nicaragua, Managua. Pine trees and rain forests are located throughout the municipality.
