John Joseph Feild (born circa 1978–1979),[1] known professionally as J. J. Feild, is an Anglo-American actor.

[edit] Early and personal life
John Joseph Feild[2] was born in Boulder, Colorado, to British academic Reshad Feild and his American wife.[2][3] Through his father, he is a relative of British astronomer John Feild.[4] Feild and his parents moved to London when he was a baby, they later divorced and remarried other people.[2][3] Feild's stepfather is Jon Williams, the editor of BBC World News.[2] Feild attended the Fine Arts College and the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art.[2] When Feild was seventeen, he and his older brother went traveling around Tibet.[2]
As of 2009, Feild spends half the year in Los Angeles and the other half in London.[3] He previously dated actress Kelly Reilly.[2]

He has appeared in several film and television roles, including the role of Simon Doyle in the television series Poirot's version of Death on the Nile, and as Paul Osbourne in Marple "The Pale Horse". He has also appeared in Northanger Abbey as Henry Tilney and in the televised version of The Ruby in the Smoke as Frederick Garland. His film roles include playing the younger version of Michael Caine's character in Last Orders and playing the role of Heinz in Telstar.[5][6]
In 2008 he made his West End debut in Ring Round the Moon.[7]
He has a starring role in Napoleon Dynamite writer Jerusha Hess's upcoming directorial film debut, an adaptation of Shannon Hale's novel Austenland.[8]
In 2011, Feild co-starred in Captain America: The First Avenger as James Montgomery Falsworth. The same year, he starred alongside Benedict Cumberbatch in Third Star and appeared in the BBC adaptation of Sarah Waters' The Night Watch.[9][10]
