John A. Ferguson Senior High School is a secondary school located at 15900 S.W. 56th St. in Miami, Florida, USA. The school mainly serves the outer portion of Miami's West Kendall suburb; its principal is Dr. Lisa Robertson.[1]

John A. Ferguson Senior High School was built to alleviate overcrowding at G. Holmes Braddock High School, and Felix Varela High School, which had reached populations of over 5,000. The school opened in the 2003-2004 school year with its first class attending G. Holmes Braddock Senior High School during more than half of the school year; Ferguson students were stationed in the back portables of the school. Students moved into the newly opened campus during the second half of the second semester as scheduled, although the school was not yet entirely completed. Ferguson was created to relieve overpopulation in G. Holmes Braddock, but it now has a higher student population, nearly 4,300, ranking as the most populated[2] in the state of Florida since the 2009-10 school year.

Ferguson is a certified Magnet Program School in Florida and has six different academy programs[3] which are: International Baccalaureate (IB), Information Technology (IT), International Business & Finance, Medical & Biomedical Skills, Design & Architecture, and Hospitality and Tourism. Many graduates have attended prestigious schools such as Yale, Harvard, Cornell, Barnard College/Columbia University, Boston College, UPenn, Johns Hopkins, NYU, UChicago, Brown, MIT, Dartmouth, Stanford, and UBoston among others. For underclassmen in the IB program their course load includes Pre-IB classes and students going to their junior year start the regular IB diploma courses.

The school yearbook is named Soar and the school newspaper is The Talon, which is part of the High School National Ad Network.

The school is named after a local reverend who assisted the school board in its efforts at desegregation. He graduated sr. high school in Coral Gables, Florida from George Washington Carver Sr. High School in 1941.

162nd Avenue along the backstretch of the school has been renamed Falcons Ave. John A. Ferguson Senior High School is ranked as one of America's best high schools, with a school grade of "A" or "B" over recent years.
