Jones College is a private college in Jacksonville, Florida. Founded in 1918, the college is non-profit and has an undergraduate body of roughly 690 students. The school is not regionally accredited, but is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS). It offers courses in business, education, management, medical assistant training, computer science, and general studies.

Main campus

The college's main campus is located on the east bank of the St. Johns River in Arlington, across from Downtown Jacksonville. A second campus is located in the neighborhood of Murray Hill on Jacksonville's Westside. A third campus in Miami closed in August 2010. The school also offers distance learning. It has a student to faculty ratio of 21:1 in on-campus classrooms[1]

The school is not regionally accredited. It has national accreditation from the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS). It is certified to operate in Florida by the Commission for Independent Education (CIE) and approved by CIE to grant degrees, diplomas, and certificates at the bachelor's level of academic study.[2]

A notable feature of the school was Jones College Radio, a non-commercial broadcast from the campus on station WKTZ-FM (90.9 MHz), 24 hours a day. The programming content was easy listening, branded as "Beautiful Music". The station began as an AM station in 1964, then switched to FM in 1973. The station is played in many businesses and professional offices on the First Coast instead of commercial muzak and can be accessed via the station's Internet website. Jones College also operates WKTZ (1220 AM) which features the syndicated America's Best Music format of adult standards. It, too can be accessed via the station's Internet website. The station was recently sold and the beautiful music format was replaced with Christian radio. However, the beautiful music is still available on the internet or through Android App.
