Jorge E. Meneses

Jorge E. Meneses (born 1954, Medellín, Colombia) is a member of the City Council and current mayor of Hackensack, New Jersey.
Meneses, a teacher in Colombia, emigrated to the United States in 1979. His first job in New Jersey was washing cars; he later took classes at New York University and worked in a bank and as a computer programmer and database designer. He was elected to the local school board in 2002, and to the Hackensack City Council in 2005.[1]
He currently resides in Hackensack with his wife Marleny and his children, Jorge and Kelly.
