José María López de Silva Sánchez, known as López Silva (born 1 February 1983), is a Spanish professional footballer who plays for Córdoba CF as a winger.

Club career[edit]

Born in Huelva, Andalusia, López Silva graduated from Valencia CF's youth setup, and made his senior debuts with the reserves in the 2002–03 campaign, in Tercera División. In the 2004 summer, he moved to CD Linares in Segunda División B.

López Silva continued to appear in the third level for the following four seasons, representing Burgos CF, CD Alcalá, Orihuela CF[1] and Cádiz CF.[2] With the latter he achieved promotion to Segunda División, contributing with three goals in 32 appearances.

On 30 August 2009, aged 26, López Silva played his first match as a professional, starting in a 0–1 home loss against UD Salamanca.[3] He scored his first professional goal on 8 November, netting his side's first of a 2–2 home draw against Real Betis.[4]

On 15 June 2011, López Silva signed a two-year deal with Córdoba CF, also in the second level.[5] In his third campaign with the Andalusians he appeared in 40 matches and scored three goals, as his side returned to La Liga after a 42-year absence.

López Silva made his debut in the Spanish top level on 25 August 2014, starting in a 0–2 away loss against Real Madrid.[6]
