Joy Lauren (born October 18, 1989)[1][2] is an American actress who is best known for playing Danielle Van de Kamp, on the hit ABC Comedy-drama Desperate Housewives.
Lauren is of Danish descent and was born Lauren Joy Jorgensen in Atlanta, Georgia. She lived in the Vail, Colorado area from age 1 to 4.[3] She attended the Galloway School and appeared in several productions by the Alliance Theatre.[4] At age 11, she moved from Atlanta to Los Angeles with her mother to pursue an acting career.[5] She graduated from high school at age 14. She is currently a member of the Class of 2012 at Columbia University.[5]
