Juan Carlos Arciniegas is the producer, a correspondent journalist for Escenario and a host of Showbiz, both shown by CNN en Español (the Spanish language CNN),[1] that covers the latest entertainment world news. Born in Bogotá, Arciniegas got his journalism degree at the Javeriana University. He is bilingual, speaking both Spanish and English.
Arciniegas has been a special reporter for CNN en Español at the Academy Awards ceremony several times, and has also covered film festivals such as the Sundance Film Festival, the Toronto International Film Festival and the French Cannes Film Festival. As a movie critic, Arciniegas has been a judge for Cartagena Film Festival, Bogota Film Festival, and the Latin Emmys.[citation needed]
Formerly, he was "news editor" for the CNN network. Before joining CNN en Español in 1997, he worked as "editing assistant" on the news agency Reuters America, at Miami. He was also television reporter and "international editor" at Q.A.P. News at Bogotá, covering diverse events in the United States and Latin America.
