Julia Benson (born Julia Anderson, circa 1979 [3]) is a Canadian actress.

Julia Benson trained as a ballet, tap, jazz dancer since age six.[4] She graduated from the University of British Columbia (Vancouver) in 2001 with a degree in Theatre and Psychology. She trained as an actress at David Mamets' Atlantic Theater Company in New York City.[2]

Julia Benson began acting in movies around 2003. She appears in productions of mysterious or horror type gothic science-fiction. They often involve religiously or spiritually intense natures about supernatural phenomena. The majority of these productions are filmed in Vancouver. She practises Bikram Yoga.
She played the lead actress as Anna in the 2007 film Road to Victory, a stripper who falls in love with a football player who is unable to sexually perform due to an injury.[5] She trained with a dancer at Brandi's strip club in Vancouver.[4]
Since October 2009 Benson has been appearing as 2nd Lt. Vanessa James in the television series Stargate Universe, for which she won a 2010 Leo award as "Best Supporting Performance by a Female in a Dramatic Series" for the episode "Pain".[6]
