Julian Edney, PhD is an American psychologist, philosopher and university teacher. He has written extensively on the decline of American society as a collaborative and inclusive construct, and on the effects of increasing inequality on the well-being of political and social groups. He was born in Uganda and now lives and teaches in Los Angeles, California. Edney holds a degree in psychology from the University of California, Riverside and advanced degrees from Yale University[1]. His works have been published in psychology journals[2] and on-line newsletters.[3][4] His book Greed is a series of essays which propose that American social order is in danger because of the rise of inequality and a culture of greed and selfishness. Dr. Edney is a critic of the philosophy and works of Ayn Rand[5], arguing that her ideas have caused lasting and persistent damage to society.
