Initially operated by SBS Transit using the first buses (Volvo B10BLEs) powered by compressed natural gas (CNG) to Jurong East Bus Interchange, it was forced to terminate these services when its contract, awarded by Jurong Town Corporation, expired. Transportation to the island is now provided by Transit Network Consortium (TNC), a conglomerate of small bus companies from Jurong East Bus Interchange.
