Kızılay Emek Business Center
The building was commissioned by the social security administration (Emekli Sandığı) of Turkey (Emek for short) between 1959 and 1965 as a revenue generating property. The architect was Enver Tokay and the statics engineer was Yusuf Berdan. The ground floor and the first two floors were designed as Supermarket and the other floors were reserved for offices. The building was situated to the south east of Kızılay Square, the crowded square of Ankara opposite to Turkish red cresent building.
In 2006, the privatization administration of Turkey sold the building  for $ 55 500 000 to Talip Kahraman Construction Co. The center is now under renovation. There is a heated discussion on the future use of the building. Also there has been protests concerning the privatization process mainly organised by Communist Party of Turkey.

Turkish Chamber of Civil Engineers lists Kızılay Emek Business Center as one of the fifty civil engineering feats in Turkey, a list of remarkable engineering projects realized in the first 50 years of the chamber.
