KESJ (1550 AM) is a radio station broadcasting a Sports format. Located near St. Joseph, Missouri, USA, the station also serves the Kansas City area. The station is owned by Eagle Communications, Inc and features programming from ESPN Radio.[1]
The 1550 frequency originally debuted as KKJO in 1947. KKJO launched an FM counterpart in 1960 which was renamed KUSN in 1966 and KSFT in 1974. The two stations swapped callsigns in 1988 with KSFT becoming the AM station. It had gone oldies, but is now broadcasts Sports 24 hours a day at 5 kW as well as St. Louis Cardinals baseball and Northwest Missouri State University sports.
The station changed call letters to KESJ in late August, 2009
