KRNV-DT is the NBC network affiliate in Reno, Nevada, serving the Reno/Sparks market (#108) and much of the rest of northern Nevada and parts of eastern California. The studio facility is located on Vassar Street in Reno and its transmitter is co-located with KTVN on Slide Mountain between Reno and Carson City.

KRNV operates a satellite station KENV-DT Channel 10 in Elko. KENV produces local news inserts during KRNV's newscasts and serves as the NBC affiliate for part of the Nevada side of the Salt Lake City market. On May 5, 2008, KENV began producing a half-hour news program weekday mornings at 6:30. KRNV operated another satellite station KWNV Channel 7 in Winnemucca, but that station went silent on July 1, 2008. KWNV's transmitter was located at 41°0′41″N 117°46′3″W / 41.01139°N 117.7675°W / 41.01139; -117.7675 (KWNV)

The signal for KRNV was relayed on translators K52DN in Carson City and K56BW in Tahoe City, California. These translators were necessary because the analog transmitter for KRNV was located on Red Peak in Reno and operated with limited power to protect KRON in San Francisco. With the digital transmitter located on Slide Mountain, the translators were no longer necessary and the licenses were cancelled.

[edit] Digital television

The station's digital channel is VHF 7, multiplexed. After the analog television shutdown and digital conversion on June 12, 2009, KRNV-DT remained on its pre-transition channel number, 7. However, through the use of PSIP, digital television receivers will continue to display KRNV's virtual channel as 4.

KENV started broadcasting only in digital on channels 10.1 and 10.2 on March 26, 2009, after its analog transmitter broke down and forced them to switch to their digital signal.
