The guru peetha was established as a spiritual and cultural centre for Kuruba Gowdas in the state of Karnataka. The Mahasamsthana is presided over by Shri Beerendra Keshava Tarakananda Puri Swamiji who has done so for the last thirteen years. The guru peetha has followers world over.
