The Boston Music Awards was founded in 1987 as the Kahlúa Boston Music Awards Is part of the annual NEMO Music Showcase and Conference. Designed to showcase talent in the Boston, Massachusetts area, past shows have featured such notable talent as Aerosmith, The Dresden Dolls, JoJo, Pat Metheny, Amanda Palmer, Phish, Donna Summer and James Taylor.
