Kai (甲斐市 Kai-shi) is a city located in Yamanashi, Japan.
As of March 1, 2010 the city has an estimated population of 74,196 with a population density of 1030 persons per km². The total area is 71.94 km².
The city was founded on September 1, 2004 from the merger of three towns: Futaba, from Kitakoma District; Ryūō and Shikishima, both from Nakakoma District
