Kanaker (Armenian: Քանաքեռ; also Romanized as K’anak’err, Kenaker, Kanaker, and Qanaqer) is a town in Armenia, located in the northeastern part of the Yerevan district. It is often aggregated with nearby Nor Zeytun as part of Kanaker-Zeytun.
Kanakerr was the home of Khachatur Abovian and Djivan Gasparyan.
The town has several churches which, severely damaged in the earthquake of 1679, were subsequently restored. Kanaker played a key role in the Russian siege of Yerevan in 1827. (There was until recently a monument in French in the Armenian church to the infant daughter of the Russian commander).
