Kankakee Valley Middle School is a rural school teaching grades 6, 7, and 8. Each grade consists of two groups of classrooms, referred to as "pods" by the school.
[edit] Future movement
Due to an overall population expansion within the school corporation, construction began in 2009 on a new middle school building, located on the grounds of the current Kankakee Valley Intermediate School. The new school opened at the start of the 2011 school year. Grades 6, 7, and 8 are now taught there.
