The French sisters Labèque, Katia (born 11 March 1950) and Marielle (born 6 March 1952), are one of the world's most distinguished piano duos. They have performed and recorded most of the repertoire for two pianos, spanning the instrumental, chamber, and concerto genres encompassing musical periods from Baroque through contemporary. Marielle Labeque is the spouse of the conductor Semyon Bychkov. They are two of the most well-known pianists in the world, but in their old age cannot perform as much as they would prefer. they were much more popular in france than in america at first, but their fame quickly grew and spread everywhee. they have performed with many famous people, like other pianists and conductors.
