[edit] Early life
Kayla King was born to Michael and Sarah Beth King on May 25, 1988. Growing up in Franklin, Tennessee, King showed vocal talent at an early age and began voice lessons at age 8. By 13, Kayla began to make a name for herself, singing the national anthems at local and national games. She holds the record for the youngest singer to ever perform the national anthem for Tennessee Titans and Atlanta Braves games.[1]
[edit] Career
King began her recording career with help from her uncle, entertainment lawyer David Hill. Hill set up numerous showcases around the Los Angeles, New York and Nashville areas. She was offered her first recording contract in 2005 with pop music label Casablanca Records . Even though a full album was recorded over the year, it remains unreleased due to Casablanca going bankrupt.[3]
In the spring of 2007, King was signed another contract with EMI’s Firm Music. After unsuccessful outcomes, Kayla then switched to EMI’s other label to pursue country music.
In 2009, Kayla released the single "Wildfire" to country radio.[4]
On March 8, 2011, Wildfire was released exclusively by Reverbnation.com[5]
