The Ketazine process is used commercially to produce hydrazine. It is a variation of the Olin Raschig process, in which ammonia is oxidized by chlorine or chloramine in the presence of aliphatic ketones, usually acetone. The resulting ketazine is then hydrolysed to hydrazine.
