Brosious developed his own martial art style, mixing concepts from a variety of traditional arts. He named his style Ketsugo ju jitsu, using the Japanese word ketsugo ("to blend").

Ketsugo Ju-Jitsu focuses on self-defense and incorporates strikes, throws, grappling and joint locks, as well as weapons training. Ketsugo Ju-Jitsu is affiliated to the American Ju-Jitsu Association.[4]

Brosious' fighting style is now practised in 25 Ketsugo Ju Jitsu dojos, mostly in the US but also in Indonesia and Canada.[5] There are 103 individuals who have graded to black belt ranks, including four of 9th dan and up.[6]
