Sheikh Khalid ibn Ahmad Al Khalifa (born April 24, 1960) is the Foreign Minister of Bahrain.[1] Sheikh Khaled was appointed in a cabinet reshuffle in September 2005, having previously been the ambassador to the United Kingdom, serving there from 2001.
A graduate of the St. Edward's University, he is only the second Foreign Minister in Bahrain's history. His predecessor, Muhammad ibn Mubarak ibn Hamad Al Khalifah, had served in that position for over 30 years.[2]
His deputy until 2011 was Dr Nazar Al Baharna, formerly a leading member of Al Wefaq, Bahrain's main Shia opposition party.[3]
