Khulua (Hindi: खुलुआ) is a village in the center of India nearly mid of Varanasi and Allahabad in district Mirzapur, located in the state of Uttar Pradesh. Khulua has a population of little over 3,000(2001 census). It is at the bank of river Ganges . It is post of combination of five villages i.e. khulua,Semra,Daurhara,Majhalipatti and Annirudhapur.The headquarter is Mirzapur District. is calculated from the clock tower in Mirzapur is nearly exactly on the reference longitude of Indian Standard Time at 82.5°[1]

As told by old person of this village its a historical village of Mirzapur.Being situated on the bank of river Ganges,people are also of holy minded. There is no exact evidences to ensure how old is this village so for. It give so many freedom fighter to India at the time of war. On the outskirts of the area,there is a patch of fields using itself to agriculture.

Khulua is located at 25°09′N 82°35′E / 25.15°N 82.58°E / 25.15; 82.58[2]. It has an average elevation of 80 metres (265 feet).

The main business is carpet manufacturing. The villagers go to Khamaria to do carpet work.People are also doing government job. The main source of income is Agriculture. All the villagers have their fields (Khet) so they don't need to buy wheat, rice, potato and daily use raw materials.

The UP Government decided to make Ganges express way from Greater Noida to Balia which will also cover the most of the field of the village. Issue is that villager deny that scheme but government assume it will change the future of the area. The village have produced Indian Institute of Technology(IIT)ians[3], Engineers and Doctors.

[edit] Vindhyachal

A few miles away from this village is a site of pilgrimage to Hindus known as Vindhyachal where according to the mythology a part of Sati (an Avatar of Durga) fell. The river Ganges flows through this village. Other sites of pilgrimage include Kali Khoh (literally 'the cave of the Goddess Kali') where a statue of the Kali has a mouth formed in the shape of a cave, hence the name. Close to the area is a waterfall. Bijli or electricity supply is very irregular and there are regular power cuts in the region.
