King’s Grove High School is a state-run (comprehensive) secondary school on Buchan Grove in Crewe, Cheshire, England.

History[edit]

The school was formerly known as the 'Crewe Grammar School for Girls' until the late 1970s. In the very early years of the school it was known as Kings Way when it was at its old site, now home to South Cheshire College. the main Kings Way building (Formerly the Summerville Centre) was still in use until 2009 when it was demolished for the new South Cheshire College building. Until the Kings Way site was closed by the school in the 1980s it ran alongside the Buchan Grove site with a path going along the school field.

In 2008, the school was awarded specialist Business and Enterprise College status, following this the school has set up its own School Shop, Bank and Travel Agency. The school has also been awarded 'Fairtrade' status.

The school has produced and performed many shows at the Lyceum Theatre (Crewe) including Into the Woods, The King and I, The Sound of Music and Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. In February 2012, the school performed a three night run of their most recent production -'Evita'. All productions were directed and put together by Mr Morgan and Mrs O'Brien, and performed at the historical Lyceum Theatre in Crewe. Mr Morgan and Mrs O'Brien were joined by Miss Bhachu in 2012, who assisted with the choreography of all the dances in the show.
