Kirk Hallam Community Technology and Sports College is an academy school in Derbyshire, UK. The school has outstanding Ofsted results. The school a sixth form that was visited by Gordon Brown in 2009. The sixth form, named "The Lakeside Centre", is part of the Ilkeston Sixth Form Partnership. The Principal is Mr. Peter Hamer.

The school was opened in the summer of 1973. Since then the school has grown in size due to the construction of additional buildings such as the Atrium - which was opened in 2000 and now hosts the school's English and Modern Languages departments.

The school is known for its advanced Technology department, giving it an edge over other educational centres in the area. It operates a GCSE course in Engineering which is studied not only by students of the school but of surrounding secondary schools also. In late 2009, it gained the status of a specialist Sports College in addition to its Technology College status. As a result, a new sports hall has been planned for construction during the course of Summer 2010.

The school also keeps its own livestock, in the form of six piglets and chickens.

The education MP Ed Balls visited the school in the summer of 2008 and interviewed with students and teachers about the school.[1]

Fischer Family Trust data puts the College in the top 25% of schools for Value Added Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 4.

The school currently publishes a lakeside magazine every half-term and a member of the student council is going to bring a student council magazine (Student voice monthly!!!) at the end of September, going to each form in year 7, 8, 9.

The latest facility at Kirk Hallam is the 2,000,000 pound sports hall with: 6 badminton/tennis courts Astroturf and fitness gym plus lots more. The sports hall will be open to the public after 6pm on selected days.
