Location of Kitaakita District in Akita
Kitaakita (北秋田郡 Kitaakita-gun) is a district located in Akita, Japan.
As of 2003, the district has an estimated population of 3,145 and a density of 12.25 persons per km². The total area is 256.82 km².

- On March 22, 2005, the towns of Aikawa, Ani, Moriyoshi, and Takanosu merged to form the city of Kitaakita.
- On June 20, 2005, the towns of Hinai and Tashiro merged into the city of Ōdate.
