Kitson (store)
Kitson is an expensive department store chain whose head store is on Robertson Boulevard in Los Angeles. This store is a well known place for celebrity spotting, especially by paparazzi. Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie, Lindsay Lohan, Teri Hatcher,[1] Jessica Simpson, Victoria Beckham, Eva Longoria, Debra Messing, Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens, Lil' Wayne and Ashley Tisdale[citation needed] have been photographed shopping at the store.
Fraser Ross opened Kitson in 2000 as a single boutique store. Kitson has expanded to include Kitson Men down Robertson Boulevard, and Kitson Kid's across the street. In 2008, Kitson opened a store at Americana at Brand in Glendale, CA. A Kitson Kids has been opened in Downtown Disney in Anaheim (California).
The store sells over 237 high end brands,[citation needed] such as Michael Kors, Gwen Stefani's Harajuku Lovers, Nicky Hilton's Chick line and Marc Jacobs among others. The store displays a trends list of "in style" things, ranked from 1 to 50, with 1 being the best.
Kitson has maintained its popularity selling T-shirts with pop-cultural references. "Team Aniston" and "Team Jolie" shirts were popular during the Brangelina saga, and "Mrs. Federline" shirts first became famous when one was made for Britney Spears and she was photographed in it.[citation needed]
On March 8, 2009, Kitson opened its first store in Japan, in the Lumine department store in Tokyo.[vague] Previously, orders from Kitson's online store were available in Japan. The day before store opening, a Kitson fashion show featuring Yu Yamada was held as part of the Tokyo Girls Collection.[2] On October 7, 2009, Kitson opened a branch in Umeda, Osaka.[3]
